From China to Eastern Europe: Protecting an Antibody-Drug Conjugate

From China to Eastern Europe: Protecting an Antibody-Drug Conjugate

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Trastuzumab deruxtecan belongs to a class of cancer treatments known as antibody-drug conjugates. The name is long, but the idea is precise: it links a potent anticancer drug to an antibody that recognises a specific target on cancer cells. That targeting ability is what makes the medicine powerful. Yet before any of that precision can reach a patient, the product itself must be prepared and moved with equal care.

On a recent NAF Pharma shipment from China to Eastern Europe, an extended wait before dispatch created additional requirements. The product needed continuous refrigerated storage at +2°C to +8°C. Cooling plates had to be reconditioned, and their temperature checked each day before packing. These steps are not optional extras. They are the practical work required to keep a temperature-sensitive medicine stable when schedules shift.

An insulated box is useful equipment. It provides a barrier against external conditions. But the box alone does not manage what happens inside it. Temperature integrity depends on how the cooling elements are prepared, how long they can maintain the required range, and how consistently those conditions are verified. That is where specialist expertise becomes essential. NAF Pharma’s role is to oversee the full sequence—storage, reconditioning, daily checks, and final packing—so the product leaves in the condition it was designed to arrive in.

Delays are a reality in global pharmaceutical logistics. When they occur, the response cannot be improvised. Refrigerated holding capacity, validated cooling systems, and disciplined daily monitoring must already be in place. Without them, a short wait can turn into a quality risk. With them, the shipment remains controlled even when the original timeline moves.

Precision medicine is built on careful design at the molecular level. That same standard of care should apply to every stage that follows manufacturing. Temperature excursions, rushed packing, or incomplete checks can undermine the very precision the product was created to deliver. Reliable logistics protect the investment made in the medicine and, more importantly, protect the patients who will eventually receive it.

If you are planning the movement of temperature-sensitive oncology products, the details matter long before the shipment departs. Speak with NAF Pharma about how storage, conditioning, and packing are managed when timelines change. Precision deserves care at every stage.
