From the Frozen Frontiers of Antarctica to the UK: Another Extreme Cold Chain Success ❄️ We did it again.
After successfully shipping Penguin Guano from King George Island, Antarctica, all the way to Hong Kong while maintaining a strict -20°C throughout the entire journey, we have now delivered another highly sensitive consignment:
- Lake Sediment Cores
- Water Samples
- Extruded Lake Sediment Samples
From the same remote location — this time to the United Kingdom, kept at an ultra-low -60°C using dry ice.
These valuable samples were collected from two critical research sites in the Antarctic maritime climate zone: Ardley Island and Yanou Lake (located on the Fildes Peninsula). Scientists use these sites to study the long-term impact of penguin activity on sediment chemistry, particularly the relationships between organic sulfur components (δ34S), reactive iron (DOP), and DOS — helping us better understand how past volcanic activity and climate change have shaped the local ecosystem. We are deeply honored by the continued trust our customers place in NAF Pharma for handling such scientifically precious and temperature-critical shipments from one of the most challenging environments on Earth.None of this would have been possible without the excellent collaboration of our trusted partners: TIBA and Cavalier Logistics UK Ltd.Thank you for your professionalism, expertise, and commitment to making these complex journeys a success.
At NAF Pharma, we specialize in extreme cold chain logistics — from -20°C to -80°C and below — for pharmaceutical, biotech, and scientific research samples, no matter how remote the origin.
