Going the Extra Mile: Delivering Scientific Solutionsfrom the Most Remote Places

Transporting dead mosquito samples might not sound heroic, but once in a while, when science calls, and we answer — taking on tasks that might seemingly small but carry significant scientific promise.

From seven of the world’s northernmost isolated Arctic Research Stations — including Toolik Field Station in Alaska, Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, and Abisko Scientific Research Station in Sweden — our mission, this time around, was to bring these critical research specimens safely to laboratories in Hong Kong.

Preserved at -20°C with high-performance packaging and dry ice thermal packaging, those specimens traveled thousands of miles across continents all under stringent temperature control and data monitoring to preserve sample quality.

No distance is too far and no temperature is too challenging. In the pursuit of scientific discovery, even the farthest frontiers are within our reach.
